Schedule of Public Programs

Evening public programs at Fremont Peak Observatory include an informative media presentation by an FPOA volunteer interpreter in the observatory classroom at 8:00 p.m. Weather permitting, observing with the 30" telescope continues into the night until at least midnight (often later).

Daytime solar programs use special filters that allow you to safely see details on the surface of the sun, and run from noon to 3PM.  Warning:  NEVER look directly at the sun without appropriate protection!

Programs on other nights for private groups may also be arranged by leaving a message on the observatory answering machine: (831) 623-2465.

For a more enjoyable experience, come prepared!  See these tips for observatory visitors.
