Schedule of Public Programs

Note: Actual program times and availability may vary due to weather (especially wind, clouds, and high humidity) and other factors.

Evening public programs
at Fremont Peak Observatory include an informative media presentation by an FPOA volunteer interpreter in the observatory classroom, weather permitting.  Presentation times vary with the season (see schedule below) and observing with the 30" telescope continues until at least midnight (often later).

Daytime solar programs use special filters that allow you to safely see details on the surface of the sun, and run from noon to 3PM.  Warning:  NEVER look directly at the sun without appropriate protection!

Programs on other nights for private groups may also be arranged by leaving a message on the observatory answering machine: (831) 623-2465.

For a more enjoyable experience, come prepared!  See these tips for observatory visitors.
