How to pay the park entrance fee
As you enter the park you will pass the sign at the entrance to our driveway. Note the gate will be locked and you cannot leave your car here. Continue up the hill to the first parking lot
Before you enter the FPOA area you need to stop by the "Iron Ranger" and pay the park entrance fee. The day use fee is $6.00 per vehicle. If you are camping, different fees may apply.
The pay station is located in the "lower" parking lot. Please see the map.
There is now an alternative means to Pay. Under the Park bulletin board is a new way to pay by QR Code. If you are going to park in the Southwest Lot then you should use the QR code there.

Once you have paid the state park registration fee either park here or continue up the road bearing left to the larger SouthWest lot. Once you park walk down to the observatory road.

Continue up the drive past the ranger house. Note that when you leave the ranger's kids might be asleep.

A short walk further and you can see our building on the hill.
If a member of your group has difficulty walking then please see our handicap procedures. If they are not able to stand in place then we need notice 24 hrs in advance so we can have the right equipment available.
